The Outsider's Dream By Berenice Barba
American dream Many definitions, many views, yet just one phrase How can people accomplish it if it's all opinion based? Some define it as freedom, others as money But is it really worth a penny?
It's worth sacrifice, hard work, effort, and an opportunity for everyone it's not a prize that you have won it's a dream that is waiting upon us to be reached
Hope it's what youths believe in when they're in high school it's what they wait for after graduating, that one tool the tool that gives them another reason to not give up
Fight The one strength that keeps them fighting for equality, for a change in their living something worth fighting for America, the land that is known for opportunity families come here seeking for peace, for tranquility they come searching for a better future for their children so that one day they can have a safe haven
Happiness Every one deserves it even if you come from Mexico, China, or Egypt Does it really matter where you come from or who you are? What matters is what you left behind and how you've come so far
Fear What youth immigrants have in their mind everyday they learn something The fear of being deported back to their native country, losing everything Their chance of becoming better people, of helping their families
American dream An opportunity for EVERYONE to be where they want to be an opportunity for each individual according to achievement, not based on origin
